Chester B "Chet" Robson

View Funeral WebcastChester Bruce "Chet" Robson, 77, resident of McIntyre Drive, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Donald Duncan officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 noon to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery in Lewis County with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Condolences may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. Born in Davidson County, he was the son of the late Charles William Robson and Cora Mae Jeffers Robson and a graduate of East Nashville High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Mr. Robson owned and operated C & S Hardwood Floors for over 45 years. In his leisure time, he loved woodworking and tinkering with cars and trucks. He was a long-time member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, the former Jana Mayfield, whom he married November 22, 1992; children, Kristen Sanders of Lawrenceburg, Katherine "Kathy" Robson of Hendersonville, and Debra Stafford of Nashville; grandchildren, Bryce Sanders of Lawrenceburg, Shane Weber and Jake Dorton of Hendersonville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dot Grimes Mayfield and James Glen Mayfield of Columbia; sister, Janice (Steve) Meador of Nashville; brothers, Charles "Bud" Robson of Nashville, James (Wilma) Robson of Nashville, Roy (Judi) Robson of Florida, and Larry (Marilyn) Robson of Nashville; sister-in-law, Jill Mayfield Lemmons of Columbia; brother-in-law, Brian (Wanda) Mayfield of Brentwood; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend, Louise Carter Blaylock of Chattanooga; and beloved dog, "Candy." He was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley, Norma, Barbara, and Imogene. Serving as pallbearers are Bryce Sanders, Mike Carter, Jake Dorton, Ted Morrow, Jay Carter, Brian Mayfield, Dalton Mayfield, Cody Mayfield, Terry Whiteside, Shane Weber, and Paul Whiteside.
