Christine McGowan Bryant, 90, former resident of the Bryant Station Community, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Countryside Village Health Care in Lawrenceburg. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Hueston Marshall and Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Haynes Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Thomas McGowan and Myra Letsinger McGowan and attended schools in the Santa Fe Community. For a number of years, she was employed with Dixie Manufacturing Company, Publix Manufacturing Company and Creekwood Corporation. Mrs. McGowan was a member of Scribner's Mill Church of Christ. Survivors include her grandchildren, Thomas Harrison Bryant and Cristy Jean Bryant; beloved daughter-in-law, Patricia Beard Bryant, all of Columbia; sisters, Pauline Fleeman of Lawrenceburg and Gloria (Mayford) Spicer of Rock Island; brother-in-law, Paul (Liz) Bryant of Centerville; great-grandchildren, Logan Harrison Bryant, Bryston Lewis Mosley, Katlyn Mosley, and Elizabeth Mosley; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Bryant; son, John Harrison Bryant; brothers, Earl McGowan, Douglas McGowan, Leslie McGowan, and Paul McGowan; and nephew, Leslie Paul "Moose" McGowan. Serving as pallbearers are William Lee "Bill" Jones, Tom Jones, Clint Derryberry, Casey Derryberry, Doug Miller, Shane Bradford, James Allen Bryant, and Roger Mosley.
