Mrs. Mildred Christine Jones Hall Tillery, 85, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at her residence on South High Street. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. and Friday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Joe Henry Jones and Winnie Graham Jones. She was retired from Weather Tamer. Mrs. Tillery was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Mildred Ann Speece and Janice Carroll Cates both of Columbia; son, Ronnie (Bridgette) Tillery of Franklin; sister, Helen Baker of Columbia; fifteen grandchildren; many beloved great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Dwight "J.D." Hall, Billy Ray Hall; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Tillery Howell; sister, Catherine Patterson; brother, Billy Joe Jones; and three grandsons, Johnny Ray Reese, Thomas Lee Reese and John Howard "Bart" Hall. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Cates, Chad Cates, Richard Beasley, Cody Swanson, Vinnie Hall and Scott Hall. The family extends a special "thank you" to Dr. Ben Gardner and the staff of Hospice Compassus for their excellent care.
