Clarice Cheek Crews

February 25, 1916 — July 18, 2012

Mrs. Sarah Clarice Cheek Crews, 96, resident of Life Care Center of Columbia, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Everette Cheek and Lillian Ashton Cheek. She was married to Bruce Crews who preceded her in death May 18, 1996. Mrs. Crews was a former longtime resident of the Campbell Station Community and had attended Campbell Station Church of Christ and Highland Church of Christ. She loved flowers, animals, collecting recipes and reading the Bible. Survivors include a niece, Donna Faye Cole of Columbia and several cousins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Cheek Inman. Active pallbearers will be Norman Dean, Eddie Inman, Will Brassfield, Harold Hinson, Sam Hinson and Jackie Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Life Care.
