View Video Tribute Claude "Buddy" Potts, 51, resident of Chestnut Ridge Road, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Roland officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery in Kinderhook. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials to Buddy Potts Memorial Fund, c/o Myrtle Potts, 4549 Chestnut Ridge Road, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Chicago, Illinois he was the son of Myrtle Davis Potts of Theta and the late J.B. Potts. He had attended Santa Fe High School and was employed by Ralph Alexander Construction. Mr. Potts was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his mother include his son, Brad (Bethaney) Potts of Culleoka; stepdaughter, Amber (John) Taylor of Pensecola, Florida; grandson, Blake Potts of Culleoka; brothers, Randy Eugene Potts of Theta, Chief Warrant Officer III, William (Karen) Potts, Don Allen Potts both of Nashville, Anthony Lane Potts of Theta; best friend, Carline Harbison; and very special first cousin, Maxine Grooms. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
