Claude Edward Roberts, Jr., 53, resident of Columbia, died November 24, 2023 at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West.

Born May 10, 1970, in Fort Carson, Colorado, he was the son of the late Retired Army Staff Sargent E-6, Claude E. Roberts, Sr. and Barbara Cox Roberts. Mr. Roberts loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed singing Karaoke, and when he was younger, he spent many hours helping with the volunteer fire department. Mr. Roberts had a huge outgoing personality and never met a stranger. He loved all animals, especially Sunnie Raye, the family’s beloved rabbit. Mr. Roberts had a heart of gold.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Betty Randolph, Deborah (Gary) Hardin; nieces and nephews, Mark (Ashley) Randolph, Stephanie (Martin) Special, Jesse Hardin; daughter, Ashton (Mark) Overstreet; son, Dustin McKennon; and grandson, Marcus Overstreet.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Delmer and Mary Cox; paternal grandparents, James and Beulah Baker; and uncles, Harold Roberts and Sam Roberts, Jr.
