View Funeral Webcast Claudine Lockhart Grant, 87, resident of E. 17th Street, died Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Life Care of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Dunlap, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late LeVander Lockhart and Edith Hatfield Lockhart. On November 26, 1946 she married Homer E. Grant who preceded her in death May 31, 2003. Mrs. Grant was a retired seamstress from Publix Shirt Manufacturing and Edric Manufacturing. She was a long-time member of Highland Park Baptist Church and the Jubilee Sunday School Class. Survivors include two sons Reed Grant of Murfreesboro and Ronnie Grant of Columbia; two granddaughters Dana Grant (Richard) Smith of Columbia and Kristie Grant (Mikie) Alcorn of Murfreesboro; two great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; six sisters Mrs. Grace Farley of Rossville, Georgia; Mrs. Jenean Williams, Mrs. Mary Sue Graham, Mrs. Lafern Smith all of Dunlap, Mrs. Evelyn Putnam of Columbia, Mrs. Marvetta (Ernest) Casteel of Ethridge; and a brother, Randall (Chris) Lockhart of Dunlap. Singing will be accompanied by Pam Graham. Active pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Mikie Alcorn, Tracy McLemore, David Putnam, Larry Graham and Danny Ray Smith.
