Mr. Merle Clayton "Clay" Floyd, 41 of Vanderbilt, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at his home following a hard fought battle with cancer. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Jimmy Nave officiating. Born March 15, 1972 in Columbia, Clay was the son of Jimmy (Brenda) Floyd of Mt. Pleasant and the late Sharon Little Floyd. He was a graduate of Frazier High School and prior to his illness he was employed as an adjuster with National Envelope. Clay was Protestant by faith and was a member of the Sons of Italy in Perryopolis, Sokol's Club and the Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education. In addition to his father and stepmother, survivors include his children Victoria Floyd, Samantha Jo Floyd, and Zachary Clay Floyd, all of Dawson, PA; grandson, Chase Ashton Lee Swink of Dawson, PA; brother, Jim (Susan) Floyd of Normalville, PA; girlfriend, Roxanne Vallango; and his paternal grandmother Melva Floyd of Columbia. He is also survived by half-brothers and half-sisters, Josh Floyd, Ashley Floyd (Willie) Green, Regina (Bobby) Gray, all of Mt. Pleasant and Randall Price of Vernon, AL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Clay was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Edith Little, and paternal grandfather, William C. Floyd.
