View Funeral Webcast Clyde Maury Brown, 72, resident of East 18th St., died Monday, November 15, 2010 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols with Bro. Russell Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of Lucille Thomas Brown Mitchell of Columbia and the late Dee Brown. He was retired from Steiner Lift Company in Nashville. Mr. Brown loved baseball, football, hunting and fishing. Survivors in addition to his mother include his son, Dwight (Sheila) Thornton of White House; daughter, Lynn Brown of Nashville; half-brother, William (Diane) Brown of Hampshire; three grandchildren, Kallee Thornton, Cody Thornton both of Spring Hill, Brittany Thornton of Nashville; uncle, Wayne Brown of Pulaski; two aunts, Josephine Edwards of Franklin, Ohio and Pauline Foster of Johnson City; and special friends, Fay Durham and Linda Stewart both of Columbia. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rhonda Brown; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Brown; brother, Phillip Brown and step-father J.W. "Jim" Mitchell. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
