View Funeral Webcast Colonel David Earl Fulkerson, 79, retired director of the Spring Hill Public Library and resident of Columbia, died Monday, October 17, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Father Tim Williams officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Corydon Cemetery in Kentucky with military honors provided by the Worsham American Legion Post 40. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Anglican Church, at 4119 Murfreesboro Rd, Franklin TN 37067, or the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 110 9th Ave. South, Nashville, TN 37203. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com Born July 7, 1943 in Henderson County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Truman Lee Fulkerson and the late Anna Lee Adams Fulkerson. On October 31, 1962 he married Lynda Sue Ellsworth Fulkerson. He was in the United States Air Force and the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a Russian linguist for Air Force Intelligence. The Colonel was well known for and enjoyed smoking his pipe. Shelia Butt recommended to Governor Haslam that he be appointed as an Honorary Tennessee Colonel Adjutant in honor of his services through the library, also Dolly Parton recognized him for bringing the Imagination Library to Spring Hill. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lynda Sue Ellsworth Fulkerson of Columbia; daughter, LeeAnna Michele (Allen) Holt of Columbia; grandchildren, Wesley David Tuesca, Christian Alexander Tuesca, Zachary Taylor Tuesca, and Madison Rose Tuesca (Dakota); great grandson, William Joseph Tuesca; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rodney Ray Fulkerson, and Mark Allen Fulkerson, and his sister; Betty Sue Arama.
