Notes of sympathy may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, she was of Luthuanian descent and daughter of the late Anthony Miscavage and Marcella Sutkitus Miscavage. She was a communicant of St. Catherine Catholic Church and a member of the Shelbyville Red Hat Society. Accomplished at needlework, she enjoyed crafting and playing slot machines. She was married July 31, 1959 to Andrew Meglis, Jr. who preceded her in death March 28, 2009. Mrs. Meglis is survived by her daughter, Isabell "Peggie" (Joel) Turpin of Hampton, New Jersey; sons, Andrew (Mary) Meglis, III of Chapel Hill and Roy Meglis of Columbia; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; foster children, Jennifer Sanson, Joan Sanson, and Gene Sanson; long-time friend, Kim Tidje. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
