Curtis Riley

September 23, 1923 — October 13, 2014

Mr. Curtis Riley, 91, retired from Stauffer Chemical Company and resident of Whiteside Road in Hampshire, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late William Mitchem Riley and Lily Blocker Riley. He served in the Merchant Marines and was a member of Cathey's Creek Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of sixty three years, Ruby Whiteside Riley of Hampshire whom he married February 4, 1951; sons, Bill Riley of Hampshire, Steve Riley of Nashville; grandchildren, Stephanie Riley and Will Riley both of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hollis Riley and Hugh Riley and a sister, Nancy Riley. Active pallbearers will be Butch Riley, Hugh Riley, Jr., Jeff Whiteside, Paul Whiteside, Michael Grimes, Tony Grimes, Benny Morton and Terry Whiteside. Honorary pallbearers include Richard Brown, Eddie Lovell, Bob Hull, Sam Worley, the men of Cathey's Creek Church of Christ and Stauffer Chemical Company Retirees.
