Dale Benderman King

Dale Benderman King, 82, resident of Columbia, died May 30, 2020 at her residence, surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Glenwood Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Vann officiating. Memorials can be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 606 Santa Fe Pike, Columbia, TN 38401 and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Born April 1, 1938 in the Scotts Mill Community of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late J. Mack Benderman and the late Rena Brunson Benderman. Mrs. King was a graduate of Haylong High School in 1956, and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She worked for Columbia Mental Health for 19 years as a business office manager. On October 9, 1964, she married Phillip Wayne King, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1989. Her greatest joys in life came from her children and granddaughters. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and was an avid Braves and Titans fan. She is survived by her daughter, Laura King (Andy) Yu of Franklin, TN; son, Andrew King of Columbia, TN; brother, Kenny (Teresa) Benderman of Mt. Pleasant, TN; granddaughters, Madeline Yu and Emily Yu; sister-in-law, Libby Benderman of the Scotts Mill Community; nieces & nephews, Susan Benderman, John Benderman, Randy Benderman, Mack Benderman, Mark Benderman, Dana Benderman, and Julie Benderman, and great nieces & nephews, Jill (Travis) Quillen, Maddie Staggs, Cole Staggs, Mabry Staggs, and Ryan Benderman. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Mack Benderman. Active pallbearers will include, Andy Yu, Mark Benderman, John Benderman, Randy Benderman, Mack Benderman, and Ryan Benderman.
