View Video TributeDanny Paul Harrington, 61, former co-owner and operator of Danny's Death Dates & Stone Cleaning, died Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his residence on East Seventeenth Street. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with his son Mark Harrington and Rev. Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 and Wednesday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born February 17, 1953 in Dickson County, he was the son of the late Clarence Paul Harrington and Thelma Lucille Wilson Harrington. Danny was employed as meat cutter for several years at Parks-Harris Company before working as a crane operator for many years at Union Carbide. He then worked with Tom Brown at Cemetery Memorials where he learned and mastered the trade of stone cutting. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Survivors include his wife whom he married July 21, 1997, Joyce Estis Harrington of Columbia; children, Angela Harrington, Steven (Cheree) Harrington, and Brandy Anderson, all of Springfield; Mark (Dana) Harrington of Gallatin; Sean (Shannon) Daniels of Columbia; sisters, Sheila (Carnell) McCandless of Lynnville; Debbie Smithson and Sharon Ashworth, both of Columbia; brothers, Richard Harrington of Linden, Billy Harrington of Columbia; fourteen grandchildren; five step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; several nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law, Terry (Teresa0 Estis of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Wayne Harrington. Active pallbearers will be Phillip McCandless, Kevin McCandless, Tim McCandless, Tommy Ravelli, Clayton Estis, Jonathon Ashworth, Robert A. Ashworth, and Chris Rowland. Honorary pallbearers will include his nieces and nephews.
