Danny Joe Southall

July 9, 1954 — October 19, 2015

Mr. Danny Joe Southall, 61, resident of Booker Farm Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at his sister's residence on Cumberland Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols with Pastor Steve Gunnell officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of Mary Louise Morgan Southall and the late Grady Joe Southall. He was retired from Cytec where he was a chemical operator. Mr. Southall enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and visiting the Amish Community. He was a member of the church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Mitzie Kay Jenkins Southall whom he married October 13, 2015; mother, Mary Louise Morgan Southall of Columbia; step-son, Colby Tanner of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Teresa Diane Wright of Columbia; nephews, Derrick Wright of Dickson and Dustin Wright of Mt. Pleasant; great nephew, J.D. Wright; great nieces, Julie Wright and Hailey Wright; aunts and uncles, Katherine Raymer and Helen Southall both of Columbia, Dot and David Leach of Kentucky, and Tony Huskey of Mt. Pleasant. Active pallbearers will be Dustin Wright, Derrick Wright, Colby Tanner, Mike Southall, Malcolm Jenkins and Mark Raymer. Honorary pallbearers include Employees of Cytec, Terry Shelby, and Brett Hermann. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. John A. Maloof, III and staff at Campbell Station Cardiology.
