Danny Stinnett, 54, roadway mechanic for CSX, and resident of Hampshire, died Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday September 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ben Diles and Greg Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Worley Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Born December 30, 1969 in Midwest City, OK, he was the son of the late Harmon Stinnett and the late Susan Treanor Stinnett. Danny was a 1988 graduate of Hampshire High School, and 1991 graduate of Columbia State Community College, where he earned an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering. On September 10, 1988, he married Kelly Morton Stinnett. Danny loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, beekeeping, and most of all, spending time with his grandsons. He was also an avid sports fan, especially enjoying baseball and football. He was a member of Cathey’s Creek Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife of 36 years, he is survived by a daughter, Samantha Stinnett (Kyle) Bays of Hampshire; son, Tristan Cole of Spring Hill; grandchildren, Nolan Bays, and Logan Bays; sister, Elizabeth Ellen (Henry) Keiner of Wolf, OK; nephews, David Herriman, and Thomas Lewis; nieces, Lindsey Lewis, and Vivi Morton; mother-in-law, Linda Morton; sister-in-law, Julie Morton; brother-in-law, Ronald Morton; uncles, Darrell Stinnett, and Keith Stinnett; and aunt, Helen Smith.
Pallbearers will be Tristan Cole, David Herriman, Thomas Lewis, Steve Martindale, Jimmy Mash, Dustin Carroll, Ronald Morton, and Charles E. Morton IV. Honorary pallbearers will include Skip Luttrell, Troy Stinnett, Eric Stinnett, Darrell Stinnett, Keith Stinnett, Tommy Kliewer, Travis Stinnett, and past and present employees of CSX.
