Darthy "Dot" Chapman Tinsley

View Video TributeView Funeral Service Webcast Mrs. Darthy May "Dot" Chapman Tinsley, 78, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at her residence on Snow Creek Road in the Theta Community. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Matthew Chapman and Mary Lee Wall Chapman. She was a graduate of Santa Fe High School. On November 21, 1972 she married David B. Tinsley who preceded her in death April 6, 1999. She was a former restaurant owner and highly regarded waitress. Mrs. Tinsley was an accomplished seamstress and worked for Dixie Manufacturing and later for Weather Tamer. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her sister, Ruthie (Chester) Howell of Theta and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ledie Jane "Janie" Chapman Johnson and Arvie Lee Chapman Collins and one brother, O.C. Chapman. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
