View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast David Henry Hoonhorst, 75, resident of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Kane officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born December 15, 1939 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was the son of the late Henry Hoonhorst and Frieda Wendall Hoonhorst. A self-employed electrician and carpenter, Mr. Hoonhorst also enjoyed woodworking. He had formerly attended Hopewell Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife whom he married October 5, 1962, Kyle Jean Ensink Hoonhorst of Mt. Pleasant; children, Daniel Lee (Danielle) Hoonhorst of Marshall, Michigan; Lynette Hoonhorst of Mt. Pleasant; Kristin May (Timothy R.) Stevens of Spring Hill; Dale D Hoonhorst of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Richard Hoonhorst, Ed Hoonhorst, and Fred Hoonhorst; six grandchildren; and two great grandsons. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
