View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast David Richard Hopkins, 45, customer service representative for American Home Patient Company, former employee of Dell Corporation, and resident of Ridge Road in the Theta Community, died Friday, June 18, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with the Rev. Thomas Wilson officiating. Born in Brockport, New York he was a 1983 graduate of Hargrave High School in Huffman, Texas and earned a B.A. degree from the University of Texas in Houston. An avid outdoorsman, he loved swimming, camping, fishing, water skiing, and also enjoyed playing poker. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Eugene "Dick" Hopkins in 2006. Survivors include his wife, Denise Skinner Hopkins, whom he married December 30, 2004; his mother, Diane Faye Burroughs Hopkins of Columbia; sister, Cathy Hopkins of Abingdon, Virginia; step-daughter, Leah (Jesse) Dunn of Columbia; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and beloved pets, Bitty, Sassy, Tootie, Flosef, and Hoppy.
