David Robert Payne

David Robert Payne, owner of North Pole Ice Cream Company and resident of Witherspoon Road, died Saturday, July 7, 2012. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in LaFayette, Ohio at a later date. Notes of sympathy may be sent to oakesandnichols.com. A native of London, Ohio, he was the son of the late Matthew Payne and Hazel Ripley Payne and had made his home in Columbia for about ten years. Survivors include his sisters, Sue Bowser of Columbia and Janet White of London, Ohio; brothers, Richard Payne, Donald Payne, and Rick Payne, all of London, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Payne.
