David owned and operated West Painting Company for several years, and was known as a jack of all trades with the capability of fixing anything. He loved cooking and remembered fondly by his children as an excellent cook where everything had to be just right. He was a huge UT fan and overall sports enthusiast but above all David was a sweet and kind family man that adored his children and grandchildren. He was also long time member of Graymere Church of Christ.

He is survived by his children, Matt (Paige) West, Adam (Autumn) West, and Natalie (Brad) Drier; grandchildren, Emma West, Reese Drier, Ella West, Charleigh West, Parker Drier, Boone West, Kaitlyn Simpson, Lexie Simpson, Tyler Simpson, and Morgan Simpson; great grandson, Grayson Trahan; sisters, Suzanne Turner, Jennie Grace (Ricky) Jewell, and Charlene (Roy) Paul; nephews and nieces, Kristen (Grayson) Gwaltney, Michael (Holly) Paul, Mark (Kim) Turner, Andrea (J.R.) Gillette, Elizabeth (Felipe) Freixo, Smith (Mary Marshall) Jewell, Chance White, Austin Hallmark, Tanner (Hannah) Hallmark, and Charity Ring; brother in law, Johnny (Angela) Hallmark; and several great nieces and great nephews and numerous dear friends that were like family to him.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister Carol West White.

Active pallbearers will be Austin Hallmark, Tanner Hallmark, Mark Craft, Rick Craft, Ricky Rhodes, and Mark Witherow. Johnny Hallmark will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Special thanks to his close friends Mark Craft, Rick Craft, Ricky Rhodes, Mark Witherow, Lynn Erdelyan and Kay Daughrity. A special thank you to Dr. Amit Choksi, Hospice Compassus and NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center nurses and staff for the excellent care they provided.
