View Funeral Webcast Delano "Dee" Folson, 76, retired driver for Ryder Logistics and resident of Bradshaw Drive, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Mikel Crews officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and after 12:00 noon Monday at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to oakesandnichols.com. Born in Guntersville, Alabama, he was the son of the late Charlie J. Folsom and Lela B. Holcomb Folsom. He was a graduate of Jones High School in Lynnville and served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Baptist Church. A big family man, Mr. Folsom was an avid fisherman. He loved traveling the roads as a truck driver and talking on the CB radio. A member of the Tennessee Travelers CB Club, he was known by the handle, "Midnight Cowboy" and was well-known for amusing friends and family with frequent jokes. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Lou Prentice Folsom of Columbia; daughter, Shannon Dee (Pete) Watkins of Pulaski; step-son, Steve (Cherri) Grooms of Columbia; granddaughter, Brandi Watkins (Daniel) Creel of Florence, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Lisa Folsom of White, Georgia and June Dillehay of Lynnville; three step-grandchildren; two nieces and three nephews. He was recently preceded in death by his twin brother, Franklin Folsom. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
