Desdie Driezen

Desdie Roberts Cozart Driezen, 92, former resident of Brannon Court, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Williamsport Baptist Cemetery with Mason Norman officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 20, 1921 in the Mooresville Community of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Roberts and Minnie Jones Roberts. Prior to moving to Columbia, she was a longtime resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma where she had been employed as an apartment manager. She loved her pet parakeet; and her favorite pastimes include embroidery and flower gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Jane (Gary) Henson and Anne Bonilla, both of Columbia; brother, Ronnie (Betty) Roberts of Hendersonville; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Cozart; daughter, Linda Jeanette Cozart Hedrick Workman; great granddaughter, Brooke McFarland Walters; two sisters, Josephine Dobbs and Gladys Brown; and a brother, Charles Roberts.
