View Video TributeMr. Dickson S. Baker, 90, longtime resident of Culleoka, died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Culleoka Church of Christ, 2225 Church St., Culleoka, TN 38451. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Maury County, Mr. Baker was the son of the late Curtis Baker and Essie Alderson Baker and attended Maury County Schools. He was first married to Agnes Anderson Baker who preceded him in death on March 29, 1989 and later married Vera Mae Booker Ladd Baker who preceded him in death on May 31, 2010. Mr. Baker served in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was retired from Union Carbide and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Culleoka Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon. Survivors include his son, Mitch Baker of Franklin; grandchildren, Rhonda (David) Littleton, Jonathan (Jamie) Baker both of Culleoka, Grant Lee Baker of Nashville, Mitchan (Sean Thomas) Kingsmill of Brentwood; great grandchildren, Laura Beth Littleton (James) Ricks, Sean Luke Kingsmill, Scarlet Kingsmill, Paris Baker, Levi Baker; sister, Jane Collins of Columbia; and daughter-in-law, Linda Andrews Baker. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry D. Baker on October 7, 2006. Active pallbearers will be John Baker, Grant Lee Baker, David Littleton, Danny Ray Goldman, Pete Ladd, Sean Thomas Kingsmill and Greg Ladd. Honorary pallbearers include Deacons and Elders of Culleoka Church of Christ.
