View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Domont Paul Toungett, 79, retired from General Electric and Fedders Corporations and resident of Ragsdale Road in the Santa Fe Community, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Hubert Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, concluding with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. The family suggest memorials to the Maury Rural Fire Protection Agency and First Responders, 1207-B Tradewinds Drive, Columbia 38401. Born in the Marcella Falls Community in Giles County, he was one of thirteen children of the late Henry Jackson Toungett and Susan Elizabeth Dycus Toungett. He was a long-time member of Mt. Wesley Church of the Nazarene and a 32 degree Mason. His wife of 53 years, Joyce Carolyn Dooley Toungett, died February 5, 2005. Mr. Toungett also worked for Maury Farmers Co-Op for several years, farmed for many years, and loved to give away his produce to friends, neighbors, and those in need. He was well-known for his ever-present smile and for greeting his friends on the roadway by tooting his "Dixie" horn. Possessed with a wonderful sense of humor, he had an unusual talent for wiggling his eyebrows and ears, much to the delight of his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughters, Pat (Dwight) Fautt of Santa Fe, Aletha Gay Toungett of Santa Fe, Lori (Charlie) Mayberry of Santa Fe; son, James Michael Toungett of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Beth Brumit, Brandon (Allison) Harris, Leslie (Rob) Milner, Jamie (Dan) Brennan, Geoffrey Johnson, and Jessica Toungett; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Dwight Fautt, Charlie Mayberry, Ronnie Dooley, Kenny Dooley, Elton Sisk, Tim Scott, Sheriff Enoch George, Larry Fox, Jeff Fox, Brandon Harris, and Geoffrey Johnson.
