View Funeral WebcastDonald Lee Williams, 79, retired employee of Paper Pulleys, Inc. and resident of East Sixteenth Street, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Highland Church of Christ Building Fund, 497 East James Campbell Blvd., Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the son of the late Donald Roy Williams and Janie Lois Bolton Williams. Mr. Williams served in the Tennessee National Guard for nine years from 1954 - 1963. He was employed fourteen years at Coca-Cola Bottling Company and later worked nineteen years at Triangle Auto Springs prior to his retirement from Paper Pulleys. He enjoyed fishing, yard sales, woodworking, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Mr. Williams was a member of Highland Church of Christ, where he had formerly served as a deacon, benevolence director and bus driver. Survivors include his wife, Martha Jane Sealy Williams whom he married August 17, 1957; sister, Thelma Jean Williams Johnson of Lawrenceburg; children, Libby Carol Williams (David) Heflen and Douglas Wayne Williams, both of Columbia; Steven Layne Williams of Hermitage, Vicky Ann Williams of Lebanon, Tina Denise Williams (Larry) Crews of Huntsville; grandchildren, Willard Maxwell (Terra) Burm, Daniel Roy Williams, Matthew Jordan (Kristen) Williams, Natalee Jane Crews; great grandchildren, Mason Scott Burm, Bryson Maxwell Burm, Di'Ana Alexandria Taylor, Piper Love' Williams, Dylan Lee Williams, Nevaeh Grace Williams, Jaxsen Willis Williams, Drake Wayne Issac Williams; nephew, Roger Eugene Johnson; great niece, Patricia Jean Johnson; and special family friend, Peggy Ruth Primm. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Johnny Sealy. Active pallbearers will be Willard Burm, Daniel Williams, Matthew Williams, Al Williams, Roger Johnson, Ricky Tinsley, Clyde Kelley, Ray Williams, and Jeff Williams. Honorary pallbearers will include Pam & Charlie Huffman, Beth Parsons, Melvin Bennett, Billy Pigg, Diane & Jerry Smith, Danny Smith, Dr. Gibran Naddy, and past and present elders and deacons of Highland Church of Christ.
