Doris Locker Stowers

Mrs. Doris Locker Stowers, 87, resident of Shawnee Drive, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Private graveside services will be conducted at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fayetteville with Jeremy Butt officiating. Memorials may be made to West 7th Street Church of Christ, 405 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401 or Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401. Locker and Minnie Ables Locker and a 1941 graduate of Lincoln County High School. Mrs. Stowers was a long-time member of West 7th Street Church of Christ and the Auditorium Sunday School Class. For a number of years, she was a volunteer and member of Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Franklin "Dick" Stowers of Columbia, whom she married September 27, 1943; a daughter, Gina Stowers Gilmer of Richmond, Texas; two grandsons, two nieces and two nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
