Dorothy Louise Thompson Dismukes, 83, resident of Zion Road, died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Presbyterian Church with Rev. Don Wahlman, Rev. Arch Warren and Rev. Chad Middlebrooks officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Churchyard. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of service at the Church. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Jim L. Thompson and Rachel Amanda Freeman Thompson. On November 11, 1950 she married Zachary Taylor Dismukes who preceded her in death November 19, 2005. The Dismukes Family lived in East Prairie, Missouri from 1966 - 1983 where she was employed as Director of government housing for HUD (Housing and Urban Development). Mrs. Dismukes was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church in Columbia. Survivors include her son, Sumner Smith Dismukes of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter, Elizabeth Clare Dismukes (Ralph W.) English of Columbia; grandchildren, Zachary Neil Dismukes of St. Louis, Rachel Amanda Dismukes of Louisville, Kentucky, Wade Thomas Dismukes of Columbia, Missouri, Taylor Clare Mosley of Murfreesboro, Jessica Elizabeth English of Columbia, James Scott (Kelli) English of Grapevine, Texas, Alan W. English of Ft. Worth; nieces and their family members, Linda (Gary) Townsend of New Albany, Indiana, Phyllis Lohmeyer and Laurie (Tommy) Lloyd both of Decatur, Alabama, Leigh (Charles) Turney of Birmingham, Alabama, Kathy Farmer and Pam (Bob) Carr both of Knoxville, Tricia Thompson of Birmingham, Alabama; nephews and their family members, Joe (Judy) Goodman of Brentwood and Art (Lisa) Thompson of Mobile, Alabama; and sister-in-law, Ann Thompson of Opelika, Alabama.
