View Funeral Webcast Dorothy Jean Rogers Headden, 84, retired waitress and former longtime resident of Mahon Road, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Dunnavant Cemetery in Elkton, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Elias Eugene Rogers and Martha Ruth Abernathy Rogers. She was married to Marvin Ernest Headden who preceded her in death on February 3, 2001. She enjoyed cooking, growing flowers, and spending time with friends and family. She was a former member of The Eastern Star when living in Newbern, Tennessee. She was a member of Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Rita C. (Jack) Tompkins of Hendersonville; son, Allen (Donna) Uselton of Columbia; sisters, Bonnie (Terry) Lester of Culleoka; Barbara (Jimmy) Rowland and Virginia (Jimmy) Sanders, both of Columbia; Betty McClendon (George Layne) of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, John (Melba) Rogers and Ronnie (Sonya) Rogers, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Brian Foster, Heather Uselton, Adam (Jayme) Edwards, Emily (Joe) Hopper; great grandchildren, Caitlin Foster, Collin Foster, Henry Hopper; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Andy Rogers and William Rogers. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
