View Memorial Service Webcast Dorothy Smith McCaleb Kilgore King, 73, retired Maury County Board of Education teacher's assistant and resident of Hatcher Lane, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Dr. Rose Ogilvie McClain officiating. Inurnment will be in Poplar Union Cemetery at a later date. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. She was attended Columbia Central High School and Columbia State Community College. Mrs. King was a teacher's assitant in the Maury County School System for 15 years. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Morgan of Hampshire; sons, Robert Dean Kilgore, Jr. and Michael Lynn (Linda) Kilgore of Columbia; grandchildren, Chris (Sabrina) Kilgore of Murfreesboro and Amber Lynn (Ryan) Marx of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandchildren, Wesley Kilgore and Peyton Bree Kilgore of Murfreesboro; step-grandchildren, Richard Ezell of Columbia, Chrus Gadis, and Brianna (Russell) Bradshaw of Smyrna; step-great-grandchildren, Jaidyn Ezell of Columbia and Mason David Bradshaw of Smyrna; sister, Tempie Lois Smith of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
