Dorothy Mai Brady Tinsley Himes, 80, widow of Arthur Vernon "Shorty" Himes, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at her residence on Highland Ave.Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. She was previously married to Clarence Reece Tinsley who preceded her in death December 23, 1973. Mrs. Himes was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Pipkin and Deborah Turnage both of Columbia; three sisters, Ethel Peden of Pulaski, Helen Pettus of Columbia, Edna West of Sparta; four grandchildren, Billy Butler, Clay Pipkin, Michelle Gray, Clarence Tinsley; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Turnage in 2004; six brothers, Mike R. Brady, Mitchell Brady, Raymond Brady, Wayne Brady, James Roberts Brady and Norman Brady; and two sisters, Lucille Fly and Betty Estes.
