Dorothy Mae Sharp Worley, 90, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 P.M. at Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. William L. Rolman, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Mount Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. at Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Born April 16, 1925 in the Mooresville Community of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Samuel Sharp and Mary Tennessee Richardson Sharp. On May 29, 1943, she married Marvin Oslin "Jack" Worley, who preceded her in death on May 11, 1987. She attended Culleoka School. Mrs. Worley was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker until 1959 when she began work as a seamstress at Dixie Manufacturing Company. After Dixie closed, she worked at Charles C. Parks Wholesale Grocery Company pulling grocery orders until it closed. She remained at home as a nurturing caregiver-caring for her mother, husband and daughter during their years of need. She cared for her disabled granddaughter in her home, after her daughter's death, until she was no longer physically able to do so. In her earlier years, she enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening and working with her beloved church family at Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School classes for children and was an active member of the CPS women's group. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Worley (Homer) Martin of Columbia; grandsons, Matthew (Angela) Martin and Jeffrey (Raven) Martin; great grandchildren, Sophia Grace Martin, Jacob Matthew Martin, Knox Sadler Martin and Grier Alexander Martin; niece, Bettye Worley Malugin; nephews, Thomas (Selene) Sharp and John (Mya) Sharp; sister-in-law, Kathy Liebschwager; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Worley; granddaughter, Tonya Green; brother, Joe (Reba) Sharp; brother-in-law, James Earl (Lucille) Worley; nieces, Linda Jo Sharp and Bobbye Worley; nephew, Billy Ray Worley; and many beloved cousins. Active pallbearers will be Briggs Primm, Jonathan Bates, Dwayne Adams, Charles Martin, Ron Brooks, Bobby Potts, Floyd Richardson, and Bud Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will include Mary Jane Primm, Dr. Ruth Lamar, Gail Adams, Miriam Battersby, Priscilla Potts, George Rochelle, Shirley Davis, Jackie Osborne, and Tracy Russell.
