View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Douglas Lee Wright, Sr., 80, retired from the furnace and garage departments at Monsanto Company, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at his residence on Caldwell Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Steve Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Air Force, member of First Church of the Nazarene, and Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Carleton McNaron Wright of Columbia, whom he married April 1, 1983; daughters, Virginia "Ginger" (Peter) Moon of Coumbia and Theresa Ann (Kevin) Brown of Franklin; sons, Douglas Lee (Stacy) Wright, Jr. of Columbia, Leonard Allen (Elizabeth) Wright of Franklin, and Christopher Ernest Wright of Key Largo, Florida; step-daughter, Leigh Ann Haddock of Columbia; half-sisters, Vonnie Swanner and Shelia Howell of Louisville, Kentucky; half-brothers, Ronald Wright and Donald Wright of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Timothy Wright of Louisville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Darren Miller Wright. Serving as pallbearers are Roy Cochran, Charles Stofel, Dwight Stofel, James Lawrence Stofel, George Stofel, Adam Wright, and Wesley Bryant. Honorary pallbearers include Monsanto retirees.
