Dr William B "Bill" Sutter

William Buckley (Bill) Sutter, age 50 of Columbia, TN, left this earth on Thursday, September 11, 2014. A highly respected radiologist, "Dr. Bill" was also a bright light in the lives of his many friends and family members. He was full of boundless energy and enthusiasm for all that he did and those he touched. He was extraordinarily generous with his time and talents.A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Bill moved to Columbia in 1991 and later served as Chief of Staff at Maury Regional Medical Center. Bill is survived by his wife, Edith Sullivan Sutter; his children, Megan Buckley Sutter, student at Belmont University in Nashville and Tate Sullivan Sutter of Columbia; his parents, Edward Lloyd and Elizabeth Louise Sutter of Calhoun, Georgia; his siblings, Robert Daniel (Alyson) Sutter of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Marion Elizabeth Lanneau (Captain Grainger Steele II) of Coronado, California, Father Richard Frank Sutter of Augusta, Georgia, Christopher Lloyd Sutter of Atlanta, and Patrick (Amy) Sutter of Augusta, Georgia: father-in-law, Jerry Sullivan of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Jan (Hayden) McKaskie of Nashville and Cindy (Kenneth) Moffett of Knoxville; and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 14, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, TN, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM. Rev. Joe Evans, Father Richard Sutter, Adam Robinson, and Lee Robinson will officiate.The family suggests memorials to Maury Regional Health Care Foundation, 1224 Trotwood Avenue; Zion Christian Academy, 6901 Old Zion Road; and First Presbyterian Church, 801 South High Street, Columbia, TN 38401.
