Earlie Mae Wright Benderman, 91, retired from Bell South Telephone Company with 45 years service, died peacefully Sunday, February 10, 2013 in her home on Union Place surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Brother Bob Mullenix officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. The family suggest memorials to Mt. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walter Wright and Willie Verene Chapell Wright. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Telephone Pioneers of America. In 1952 she married Owen Hollingsworth Benderman who preceded her in death March 31, 1995. She is survived by her sister, Sally Wright Frierson of Columbia and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Pennington and Catherine Pierce and a brother, Mack Wright. Serving as active pallbearers are James Fraley, Austin Pennington, Sam Prentice, Ronnie Potts, Trevor Pennington, Tyler Dodson, Butch Adkisson, and John Adkisson. Honorary pallbearers include Glen Neathery, Bernice Lawson, Brandon Yannayon, Telephone Pioneers of America, Bell South retirees, Adult Sunday School Class at Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and the staffs of Hospice Compassus and Comfort Keepers.
