Mr. Edgar Rogers Callahan, 83, mechanic and resident of Buffalo Road, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The Maury County native was the son of the late John Lee Callahan and Alma Stewart Holt and was a former resident of East 16th Street in Columbia. He loved to work on Model A and Model T Fords and restore them. He also enjoyed bluegrass music and played the banjo and guitar. Survivors include a brother, Don Callahan of Lynchburg, Virginia; son, Freddy Millbrook; daughters, Macy Thompson of Columbia, Gig Kennedy of Lawrenceburg, Debbie Akins of Leoma, Kim Callahan Schrems; thirteen grandchildren including Tom and Michelle "MoMo" Baldwin; and one great grandchild.
