Edith Morris Stevens

Edith Morris Stevens, age 87, resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens. Notes of condolence may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. Edith Morris Stevens was born October 17, 1927 in Limestone County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Fletcher Morris and Octavia Franks Morris. She married William Thomas Stevens on November 9, 1946. Their 63-year marriage ended with his death July 16, 2010. Survivors include her children, Randy (Leesa) Stevens and Morris (Dianne) Stevens; grandchildren, Rebecca Stevens Fua, Branson James Stevens and Jeb Stevens, Marcy Autrey, Taylor Stevens; great-grandchildren, Ella Grace Fua, Caroline Lynn Fua, Jacqueline Elise Stevens, James Thomas Stevens and Hayden Stevens, Kaplan Autrey. Active pallbearers are Branson Stevens, Diego Fua, Jimmy Damron, Barry Watson, John Williams, David Edwards, Bob DuBois, and John Tomlinson. The family expresses special appreciation to the staffs of The Bridge, NHC Hillview, Dr. Amit Choksi, Dr. Shawn Gentry, and Effie Lovett for their care and kindness during her illness.
