Eileen Masters Evans

Eileen Masters Evans, 91 years and eleven months of age, retired operator of the Overton Motel Restaurant in Livingston, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at her residence. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home in Livingston with Bobby Gore officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 a.m. to service time at Speck Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials to the Roe & Eileen Evans Endowment Fund at Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com Born in the Hilham Community in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Sam Masters and Flora Fleming Masters. For many years she was a member of Livingston Church of Christ. Since making her home in Columbia, she worshipped at Northview Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roe Harris Evans on March 1, 1971. Survivors include her daughter, Rita (Doug) Williams of Columbia; grandchildren, Rebekah (Andy) Parker of Brentwood and Andrew (Katie) Williams of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Jackson Parker, Drew Parker, Taylor Parker, all of Brentwood and Noah Williams of Columbia; sister, Gertie Lee Masters of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Meekle Masters of Livingston and Anna Gilpatrick of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Andrew Williams, Andy Parker, Sam Masters, Peyton Ogletree, Steve Evans, and Terry Evans.
