View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Frances Elaine Vaughn Sargent, 87, resident of Westover Drive, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Franklin County native was the daughter of the late Horace Cecil Vaughn and Mary Lou Mann Vaughn. She married Jessie Glenn Sargent who preceded her in death June 29, 1987. She was reared in the Fountain Heights Community where she attended Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church until the age of fourteen when her family moved to Columbia. Mrs. Sargent's first job was a teller for Middle Tennessee Bank and then she worked for McFarland, Colley, Blank, and Jack as a legal secretary. She continued to work for Billy Jack for another 14 years, before becoming the assistant office manger for Jones Home Furnishing's. She was a member of Arkland Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Brewer, III of Fairview, and Carol and Farris "Bubba" Storey of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
