Eloise Blair Hanshaw, 100, retired waitress and resident of Valley Creek Road in Culleoka, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Clark Albright officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The Goodwater, Alabama native was the daughter of the late George Franklin Blair and Annie Russell Blair. She was married to James Joseph Hanshaw who preceded her in death. Mrs. Hanshaw was a former employee of Berlin's Restaurant and Country Kitchen. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Hanshaw of Culleoka and Rusty (Kathy) Hanshaw of Greenwood, Indiana; a daughter Frances Tyson of Alexander City, Alabama; grandchildren Rob (Amber) Hanshaw of Kennesaw, Georgia, Ben (Lori) Hanshaw of Greenwood, Indiana, Michael (Pam) Crosby of New Kent, Virginia, Steve Tyson of Alabama, Derinda Tyson of Alexander City, Alabama; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Crosby, four sisters, Maude Burnett, Florence Nelson, Georgia Mitchell, Sarah Russell Browder and a brother, Smith Graham Blair. Pallbearers will be Ray Morrow, Donald Briggs, Gary Bonham, Nelson Huey, Danny Ray Goldman and Roy Huey.
