View Funeral WebcastMr. Ernest "Ernie" Moss,Jr., 78, retired heavy equipment operator for Old South Excavation Company and resident of Fiqures Avenue, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Maury Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Rock Island, Texas, he was the son of the late Ernest Moss, Sr. and Josephine Carter Moss. He worked in the Texas oil fields for several years before moving to Maury County to make his home. Survivors include his wife, Susie McKennon Moss of Columbia; children, Joyce Lynn Melebeck, Wanda Marie Moss, and Daniel Wayne Moss of Texas; sisters, Billie Jean Mesecke of Richmond, Texas, Joann Buster of Edinburg, Texas, Kathryn Holt of Victoria, Texas, and Betty Louise Frahm of Friendswood, Texas; brother, Larry Moss of LaFayette, Louisiana and Bob Moss of LaMarque, Texas.
