View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Estelle Buchanan "Nani" Littleton, 102, resident of Sunset Lane, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Park Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Proctor and Rev. David McGregor officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Highland Park Baptist Church, 1800 Highland Avenue, Columbia 38401. Notes of condolence may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late William Henry Buchanan and Julia Cude Buchanan. Mrs. Littleton was a long-time, charter member of Highland Park Baptist Church and served as chairperson of the Bereavement Committee for a number of years. Active in activities of the church, she served as Kitchen Hostess from 1982-1997 and as Secretary and Treasurer of the Lillie Davis/Jubilee Sunday School Class and Joy 55 Club. For a number of years, she worked as a saleslady for Williams Clothing Company and Miss Kitty's Little Stitches. Mrs. Littleton was an accomplished seamstress and was well-known for baking delicious cakes. Her husband, David T. Littleton, preceded her in death November 20, 1959. Survivors include her son, Tommy (Kitty) Littleton of Columbia; special niece, Sherry Swearengin of Memphis; brother, J. W. Buchanan of Waverly; grandson, David (Rhonda) Littleton of Culleoka; great-granddaughter, Laura Beth (James) Ricks of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Deacons of Highland Park Baptist Church, Charles Dillehay, Jimmy Fogg, Gail Fogg, Lee Dillehay, and Georgia McCaleb. Honorary pallbearers include the Jubilee Sunday School class and Joy 55 Club at Highland Park Baptist Church. The family wishes to express special appreciation to Dr. Anuradha P. Mann for her kindness and care during her illness.
