View Video TributeView Funeral Service WebcastMr. Eugene Harlan Lunn, 93, local longtime businessman and resident of Maury County, died Monday, January 2, 2012 at Sterling House. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jeremy Butt officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 216, Nashville, TN 37215. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in the Kedron Community, Mr. Lunn was the son of the late Junius H. Lunn and Bertha Derryberry Lunn. He attended Maury County schools and was a 1935 graduate of Columbia High School. He also graduated from Andrew Jackson University, International Accountants Society and attended Columbia State Community College. During his business career, he was employed by Wilson and Company, Inc. as an accounting clerk, volunteer ordinance works in their audit division and by Tuell Dairy Company as office manager. In 1949 he and his father formed a partnership and purchased Fountain Creek Mills of which he was the managing partner for approximately twenty five years. Mr. Lunn served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps and was stationed on Guam and Saipan in the South Pacific. He was a longtime member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ was also was a member of American Legion Post 19. He is survived by one daughter, Ms. Linda Lunn West of Olive Branch, Mississippi; one sister, Mrs. Louise Lunn Minor of Columbia; two grandchildren, David Lunn (Susan) West of Collierville; Danita West (Steve) Pate of Olive Branch, MS; and four great-grandchildren, Jonathan West and Jordan West both of Collierville and Allyson Pate and Taylor Pate both of Olive Branch, MS; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jack Craig, Homer Ring, Stacey Lunn, Larry Lamar, Jimmy Lamar, Bobby Troope and Charles Martin.
