Evelyn Corrine Cannady Hickman, 81, retired private sitter and former resident of the Campbell Station Community, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 4:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Glenn Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Notes of condolence may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in the Campbell Station Community in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Cannady and Hassie Weatherford Cannady and was a graduate of Culleoka High School. She was a long-time member of Campbell Station Church of Christ and worked many years as a private sitter, helping elderly women in their homes. Survivors include her daughter, Eyvonne (Mike) Morris of the Glendale Community; son, William D. Hickman of Culleoka; sister, Valda Cannady of Campbell Station; two step-grandsons; a step-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Wilburn M. Hickman; sister, Ruth Williams; and brothers, Frank Shirley Cannady, Joe Cannady, Barney Cannady, Dennis Cannady. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family wishes to express special thanks to the nurses and staff at NHC Columbia for their many years of care.
