MRS. JAMES ALLEN HOOD Mrs. Fannie Mae Blackburn Hood, 90, long-time resident of Third Avenue, died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Goshen United Methodist Church with Rev. Earl Davis, Rev. Charles Edward Blackburn and Rev. James Gardner officiating. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery. The family will visit with friends after 4:00 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols and after 12:00 Noon Saturday at the church. Mrs. Hood was a Maury County native and daughter of the late Matthew T. Blackburn and Lillie Mae Baker Blackburn. She began serving as Cafeteria Manager for Santa Fe School in 1953 and remained in that position for 25 years. She was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church for a number of years. Her husband, James Allen Hood, died May 27, 1949. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Henry Harris of Santa Fe; a son and daughter-in-law, James Allen "Jimmy" and Patricia Hood of Huntsville, Alabama; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a half brother, Jim Blackburn of Columbia; two half-sisters, Margaret Ann Vinson of Columbia and Juanita Roberts of Spring Hill. Active pallbearers are Tony Harris, Dennis Thomason, Allen Hood, Greg Riddle, Paul Miller and Edwin Chumley. Honorary pallbearers include men of the Goshen and Riverside United Methodist Churches; 2nd floor staff of Maury Regional Hospital and staff of the skilled wing at Hillview Health Care.
