View Funeral WebcastMrs. Glenda Faye Curtis Pollard, 74, retired nurse and resident of Old Williamsport Pike, died Tuesday, April 30, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at South Gate Church of Christ with Brian Gregory, Joe Macer and Sheriff Enoch George officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Friday from 12:00 noon until time of service at the church. The family suggests memorials to South Gate Church of Christ Building Fund, 2700 Pulaski Pike, Columbia, TN 38401 or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Raymond G. Curtis and Lona Bell Attkisson Curtis. Mrs. Pollard was a 1959 graduate of Freed Hardeman College and a 1989 graduate of Columbia State Community College Nursing School. She was a registered nurse at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg and was a member of South Gate Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Ned Hunter Pollard of Columbia; son, Daniel (Jeanne) Pollard of Spring Hill; daughters, Canette McCord of Columbia, Belinda Jo (Tom) Piland of Franklin; sisters, Geneva (Sam) Moore of Plano, Texas, Virginia Lindsey of Columbia, Lucille Cherry of Clarksville, Martha (Roy) Enoch of Denton, Texas; brother-in-law, James Ed (Melba) Pollard of Columbia; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers include Bobby Bishop, J.B. West, Sheriff Enoch George, Sonny Hargrove, Wayne Stacy, Don Minor, Jim Pollard and Jon Pollard. Honorary pallbearers will be present and past elders and deacons of South Gate and Eastside Church of Christ.
