Born February 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Rhett Parsons of Pennington Gap, Virginia. She married Ray Sims, March 15, 1948, her true love which continued until his death in 1994. Faye had her special interests: State level Jaycee and Jaycettes, Maury County Home Demonstraton Club, Cub Scout Dean Mother for 9 years, yeast roll and chess and pecan pie baker for Tuckers Grocery. She chaired many Arts and Crafts Festivals, worked hard with her husband Ray to promote the Maury County Arts Guild, chartered the first Mule Day Arts Festival and Meriwether Lewis Pioneer Arts & Crafts Festival from 1969 - 1977. Faye taught the seven-year old Sun Shine Sunday School class at First Baptist Church for several years. She was a charter member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church where she organized and led the young boys and girls choir in their early years. In 1975, it was her idea (at age 50) to open a retail art and gift gallery in Columbia, Sim's Gallery, which grew quickly into a prospering family business. Sims and his wife Carolyn of Columbia; grandson, Charles Justin Sims of Murfreesboro; brother-in-law, Bob D.
