Flossie Crocker Lane

April 30, 1926 — March 15, 2014

Flossie Mae Crocker Lane, 87, resident at Life Care of Columbia, passed away gracefully, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Private services will be conducted at the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Mike Dawson officiating. Notes of sympathy may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Philadelphia, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn Crocker and Florence Riley Crocker and long-time member of the Baptist Church. A retired cosmetologist, Mrs. Lane owned and operated Tropic Isles Beauty Salon in North Fort Myers, Florida for many years. She married Coleman David Lane September 8, 1945. Mr. Lane died July 12, 1985. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Jim) Rash of Columbia; son, Jim (Loretta) Lane of Dunedin, Florida; granddaughters, Kelly (Dusty) Warren of Memphis, Natalie Rash, student at the University of Memphis, Rebecca Lane and Danica Lane, both of Dunedin, Florida; step-granddaughter, Starla (Matt) LeMay; step-great-grandsons, Cameron LeMay and Tyler LeMay; sister-in-law, Virginia Crocker of Gonzales, Louisiana; sister, Mary (Frank) Beckham of Humboldt, Tennessee; many nieces and nephews and their families; special friends, Donna and Howard Lange, Rick Wittimore, and Ann Brady and family. She was preceded in death by a sister, Oma Minton, brother, Harold Crocker, and brother-in-law, Donald M. Minton.
