View Funeral WebcastMiss Frances Marguerite Craig, 93, resident of The Bridge, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jeremy Butt and Mike Kesler officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2 - 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Claude Dobbins Craig and Fannie Allen Craig and was a 1939 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Frances attended Nashville Business College and Columbia Business College and was then employed at Columbia Power System for forty-one years from June 1, 1942 until May 31, 1983. In her earlier life she traveled extensively and always enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She was a lifetime member of West 7th Street Church of Christ where she was also a member of the Porter King Sunday School Class. Frances lived a life of quiet dignity showing her kindness to everyone she met. Her greatest joy was being with family and sharing their lives with them. Survivors include her nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, Mary Jo Perry (Harold) Pratt of Franklin, Bob (Betty) Perry of St. Petersburg, Florida, Claude Allen (Jill) Craig, Janice Craig (David) Brown, Mary Frances Craig (Doug) Young all of Columbia, Neeley T. Craig of Alabama; and several great nieces and nephews including Becky Pratt (Michael) Gregory of Brentwood, Perry Pratt of Franklin and Ken Craig Perry of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Mary Belle Craig Perry and her husband Jake, and her brother, Henry Neeley Craig and his wife, Gladys. Active pallbearers will be Bob Perry, Harold Pratt, Michael Gregory, Grant Gregory, Perry Pratt, Andrew Pratt and Claude Craig. Honorary pallbearers include elders and deacons of West 7th St. Church of Christ. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Stephen Simmons for thirty years of compassionate care and the staffs of The Bridge and NHC Hillview and also to her devoted friends, Ann Phoenix, Dorothy Witherow and Marynelle Chriswell.
