Frances Lucille Cude Smith, 91, farmer and homemaker in the Lanton Community for many years, died Friday August 15, 2014 at her daughter's residence on Shangrila Trail. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Clay Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens in Franklin. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Mrs. Smith owned and operated Smith Angus Farm with her late husband, William Harold Smith, until his death October 19, 1979. She was a member of the American Angus Association. Active in her community, she was a member of Lanton Church of Christ and taught Sunday School for many years. She also was a Girl Scout Leader for several years. Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn (Charles) Ring of Spring Hill and Joanne (Randy) Carroll of Columbia; grandchildren, Patrick (Lauren) Carroll of Madison, Wisconsin, Levi (fiancé` Caleigh Davis) Carroll of Boston, Massachusetts, Jason Weaver of Decatur, Alabama, Kasey Carroll of Columbia, Trysten Carroll of Columbia, Harvey Kanayurak of Wasilla, Alaska, Brian Oenga of Barrow, Alaska; special friends, Clarise Rios, Alexis Gilbert, and Gabrielle Childress; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Weaver. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Weaver, Levi Carroll, Patrick Carroll, Brian Oenga, Phillip Simmons, Weston Simmons, Chris Smith, Yancey Smith, Cody Smith, Tanner Reynolds, Jared Ring, Chris Schwartz, Brian Schwartz, and Michael Schwartz.
